"We are deeply saddened by the devastating news of the recent hot air balloon crash near Luxor in Egypt (Friday 5th January 2018). We can confirm that twelve of our passengers were on board the hot air balloon. Seven passengers were slightly injured and sadly one passenger, a South African national, has died. We are working with our local Destination Management Company and the local authorities at this time. We have a dedicated team of Topdeck Representatives also on hand to provide support. Medical assistance has been provided to all those that were on-board and our focus is on the wellbeing of our customers and ensuring we are in contact with the family members of those passengers to provide support. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with our affected passengers and their families at this very difficult time".
